Meet Gilberto Ramirez

I used to be skin and bones—maybe a few thin strips of muscle thrown in randomly.

That was me growing up.

Building strength and size felt impossible, no matter how much I ate (and trust me, I out-ate everyone in my family). The bullying and being pushed around stuck with me. It made me think about the future: I never wanted to be the “wimpy dad” who couldn’t protect his kids from neighborhood tough guys.

So I decided to change everything.
I dove headfirst into training—buying every program I could find, not just for the workouts, but for the knowledge inside them.

The more I learned about how the body actually works, the more obsessed I became. That passion led me to switch my major from Criminal Justice to Kinesiology Exercise Science.

n 2014, I stepped on stage for my first physique competition. By 2017, I had earned my IFBB Pro card.
But the real mission started after that: turning my hard-earned knowledge into results for others. In 2020, I completed my Master of Science in Kinesiology Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition. On top of that, I’ve stacked serious credentials to help people transform safely and effectively:

•  Certified Personal Trainer (NASM)
•  Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM)
•  Physique & Bodybuilding Coaching certifications (NASM)
•  Certified Exercise Physiologist (American College of Sports Medicine)

Today, as an IFBB Pro and coach at Desert Metro Fitness, I help everyday people and competitors alike build the bodies they’ve always wanted—whether that’s adding serious muscle, dropping fat for life-changing confidence, or prepping to step on stage and dominate.

My approach? Science + real-world application. I teach you how your body moves (proprioception, levers, mind-muscle connection) so every rep counts more. No guesswork, no cookie-cutter plans—just personalized guidance that gets results and lasts.
